Child Reports consists of the number of children reported as alleged victims of maltreatment during each fiscal year.
This count includes the sum of unique child-report-date combinations across the fiscal year.
Substantiated Child Reports consists of the number of child reports where at least one allegation is substantiated during the fiscal year.
This count includes the sum of unique child-report-date combinations where at least one allegation is substantiated.
The data used to compute this measure come from the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). They were extracted on December 31, 2024. They were calculated based on the state fiscal year, which spans the 12-month period from July 1 to June 30. Data are limited to closed investigations. Data may include records with missing geographic or demographic information.
