Family Reports consists of the number of families reported for alleged child maltreatment during the fiscal year.
This count is the sum of unique family-report-date combinations during the fiscal year.
If a family is reported more than once in a given year they are counted each time.
Substantiated Family Reports consists of the number of family reports where at least one allegation is substantiated during the fiscal year.
The count includes the sum of unique family-report-date combinations during the fiscal year where at least one allegation is substantiated.
The data used to compute this measure come from the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). They were extracted on December 31, 2024. They were calculated based on the state fiscal year, which spans the 12-month period from July 1 to June 30. Data are limited to closed investigations. Data may include records with missing geographic or demographic information.
